Kotka Region has four public transport charging zones:
A = Pyhtää kirkonkylän – Hirvikoski – Purola area and Kotka Huruksela area (abbreviation A Pyhtää).
B = Kotka local transport (excluding the Huruksela area) and the Huutjärvi-Siltakylä area of Pyhtää (abbreviation B Kotka)
C = Hamina urban area (excluding the Pyhällö area) (abbreviation C Hamina)
D = Hamina Kitula – Pyhällö area (abbreviation D Pyhältö)
The alphabetic characters are used for example in receipts, online shops and fund/stamping devices.
When travelling within one zone, you pay the fare for one zone, for two zones you pay the fare for journeys between Kotka and Hamina or Pyhtää kirkonkylä and Kotka, for example. From Pyhtään kirkonkylja to Hamina you travel via zones A, B and C, i.e. you pay a three-zone fare.
